Job Description:

  • Operate tractor trailer truck to make deliveries to various customers.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections noting any maintenance requirements.
  • Gather appropriate paperwork for each delivery assigned for the day.
  • Properly load and secure cargo for safe delivery to customers.
  • Properly unload cargo for delivery to customers and reverify delivery of cargo to each customer. Report any shipping discrepancies.
  • Observe all traffic laws and regulations to ensure safety first.

Job Requirements:

  • Possess CDL A License with HAZMAT endorsement.
  • Able to obtain TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credentials) card.
  • Possess current Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
  • Provide clean Hawaii Driver History Record.
  • Provide excellent customer service – good communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Perform basic math functions – add, subtract, multiply, divide.
  • Forklift certifiable.
  • Able to carry and lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Flexible work schedule with overtime to meet customers’ needs.
  • Ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment and detail-oriented.

Job Summary

The HR Assistant Manager is involved in all aspects of the Human Resource processes. The Trainee coordinates the processing of payroll for the Bargaining Unit employees. He/She is involved in the recruitment process from placing position openings in all possible avenues to planning the on boarding orientation. The Trainee is involved in Union activities which includes but not limited to investigating grievances and getting involved with union contract negotiations. The trainee plans and coordinates benefit open enrollment for Management and Administrative Staff.

Essential Functions

  • Process bi-weekly bargaining unit employee payroll using ADP and uAttend programs.
  • Review payroll reports to reconcile Vacation/Sick/PTO balances.
  • On a monthly basis, generate reports for the Health & Welfare and Pension Fund contributions.
  • Assist with the recruitment process by placing position openings in all avenues.
  • Process New Hires and prepare for the on boarding orientation which includes but not limited to background checks, setting up appointment for physicals, and scheduling road evaluations.
  • Conduct outprocessing of employees who have resigned, retired, or terminated.
  • Plan and coordinate annual benefit open enrollment for Management and Administrative staff.
  • Attend monthly meetings – Insurance Review, Safety & Health Committee, and Staff Meeting.
  • Conduct random drug and alcohol testing.
  • As needed, process documents for Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Workman’s Compensation (WC), and Temporary Disability Insurance (TDI).
  • Schedule annual road evaluations as required for the Driver Qualification File (DQF).
  • Conduct annual review of Driver History Record.
  • Develop and maintain Human Resources and Safety & Health policies, programs, and practices.
  • As needed, generate reports requested by Operations and Management.
  • Conduct annual limited query per National Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge of Federal Employment Laws and Regulations – Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Occupational Safety & Health Act (OSHA), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR).
  • Extensive knowledge of State Laws and Regulations – Wage & Hour Laws, Prepaid Health Care Act, Disability Compensations Laws – Temporary Disability Insurance and Workman’s Compensation.
  • Knowledge of Discrimination, Disability, and Privacy Laws.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Detail oriented and results oriented.
  • Able to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Human Resources or related field.
  • At least two to three years related experience required.
  • SHRM Membership a plus.

Job Summary

  • Perform inventory utilizing customer reports generated from the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Utilize WMS reports to pull orders of merchandise/freight for incoming and outgoing orders.
  • Able to learn and retain customer’s proprietary computer system.
  • Operate various forklifts and pallet jacks to organize orders for each customer.
  • Understanding palletizing techniques to properly organize orders for each customer and minimize merchandise damages.

Job Requirements

  • Provide excellent customer service – good communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Forklift certifiable and experience operating pallet jacks.
  • Knowledge on use of basic hand tools.
  • Perform basic math functions – add, subtract, multiply, divide.
  • Computer literate – knowledge of Warehouse Management System (WMS) and customer’s computer system.
  • Able to work independently without close supervision in maintaining inventory counts for dedicated accounts.
  • Possess cognitive abilities to resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Flexible work schedule with overtime as needed to meet customers’ needs.
  • Able to lift and carry at least 75 lbs.
  • Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Union position: $17.40 per hour union starting pay.
